Re: Updated First Aid Protocol
Effective immediately, there will be a change to the standard protocol for healing during a run (i.e. while under fire). The new procedure is as follows:
- When a runner is incapacitated by injury, a nearby runner will apply first aid at the first opportunity, for a minimum of one combat round. Please note that it will not always be feasible to do this immediately, depending on the circumstances.
- After first aid is performed, if required, a mage will apply a healing spell, again at the first feasible opportunity.
- (New) After the healing spell, the injured runner’s first action will be to apply a stim patch to the mage. Failure to do this may result in a sudden loss of healing and re-incapacitation.
All runners are reminded to carry a medkit on every run, including at least one stim patch for the mage. Think of it as a “thank-you” to your friendly neighbourhood healer!
I am confident that this change will prevent problems like the one that occurred on the recent Brackhaven run, when the net effect of a healing spell was to bring down the mage without healing anyone.
Thank you for your continued co-operation.
